Aloha k?kou! The 7th annual Arizona Aloha Festival is once again coming to the valley. Beginning this Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Tempe Beach Park, the Arizona Aloha Festival was founded to spread awareness of Hawaiian and South Pacific Islander culture and heritage and to bring a little bit of Hawaii to the desert.
Bringing together thousands of visitors every year, the event features all aspects of Hawaiian life, including food, art, jewelry and dance. On top of these festivities, the festival will also showcase various educational opportunities, including speakers, programs and learning materials, all on South Pacific Islander culture and history.
"It's a way to experience the music and dance from the islands," said Lacretia Bacon, planning-team chairwoman. "Because this is [about] the South Pacific islands, it's a good event to explore that [culture].”
The Arizona Aloha Festival is a terrific family event near Scottsdale. For more information about the festival, visit their website or take a look at their venue map to see all the various vendors and events happening at the festival. Admission is free to the public, with food and drink available for a price. Please no pets or large umbrellas.
