Alfa Romeo has already begun to make its reintroduction to the American market a big deal, thanks to its impressive debut of the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C. Now, it looks like the Italian automaker will be taking that impressive stance yet again with the introduction of more new cars, as well as more powerful engines to accompany them.
One of the new engines will be derived from a Ferrari-based V6 engine, which makes sense since the new Alfa Romeo roadsters will need an exceptionally powerful powertrain under the hood. The second engine will be a high-output 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo. Alfa Romeo’s parent company FCA is investing over 500 million Euros to build these high-octane powerplants; a move that speaks to the company’s commitment to the brand and its high hopes for a wide American audience.
No official word on what models will sport these new powerhouse engines, but we have heard that a new Alfa Romeo sedan will possibly get the turbocharged four. We're expecting to see several other new Alfa models down the road - including a new sports cars and SUV - so we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
