Fiat has been expanding its lineup consistently over the past year, adding new models that customers have been clamoring for, like the all-new 2016 Fiat 500X crossover. Now the automaker is entering into a whole new segment with their new mid-size Fullback pickup.
The new Fiat Fullback just debuted at the Dubai Motor Show to both excited Fiat fans and impressed critics. The Fullback continues the automaker’s trend of launching new pickups in markets around the world, including Brazil.
The pickup will have a 118-inch wheelbase that is similar to other popular trucks around the world, such as the Chevy Colorado. It can haul up to 2,300 pounds, thanks to its turbocharged 2.4-liter diesel engine that generates nearly 180 horsepower. Drivers will be able to choose either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox on the truck, though we think the automatic would be a better, more fuel efficient choice.
Initially, the truck will only be available in markets around Africa, Europe and the Middle East, though American buyers might see it come to the States if Fiat sees nice sales numbers out of these markets. For now, take a look at our current selection of 2016 Fiat cars. We’ll keep you updated on when the new Fullback pickup might make its way to Scottsdale in the coming months.
