2018 FIAT Snow Wheels

The 500X from FIAT is a relatively new crossover SUV that was first introduced in 2014. However, that hasn't stopped FIAT from making improvements throughout the years to meet the needs of drivers. 2019 is no different. For 2019, the 500X in Europe is receiving a minor refresh that incorporates new headlight and a few different pieces of safety technology. We are expecting similar updates to the United States model.

Has FIAT announced the 2019 500X in the United States?

FIAT hasn't announced the exact trim levels that are going to be available for the new 500X. With that being said, the 500X is typically available in three different models. These include the base Pop model, the Trekking model, and the Lounge model. Overall, the interior of the 2019 500X that was shown in Europe is almost identical to the previous year's model. it still features the sleek and futuristic dashboard. It also comes with rear seats that utilize a 60/40 split design for easy cargo management. However, there are some minor changes. The instrument cluster has been given a light facelift for better visibility. It also has an electronic display in the center that can provide pertinent performance metrics at a glance.

. FIAT is also previewing a newer infotainment center for the 2019 model. The 500X will be available with a 7-inch touch screen display. The system uses the UConnect software. It's also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On the outside, the changes are a bit more apparent. The crossover now uses LED headlights and accent lights. On the back, you'll notice that the taillights now feature a ring design with a body-colored circle in the middle. The lines on the body of the 500X are also a bit sharper.

Do You Think the Engine Will Be Updated?

We think the biggest change to come in the 2019 FIAT 500X will be the powertrain. Historically, there are a wide variety of different engine options to choose from. For 2019, the European unveiling shows two new engine options. The first is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine. It has three cylinders and can provide you with up to 120 horsepower and 140 pound-foot of torque. The second option is also a turbocharged engine. It's a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine that can deliver up to 150 horsepower and 199 pound-foot of torque. More than likely, these will appear in the american version. The third option is the returning 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. It's naturally aspirated and can generate 110 horsepower. Of course, FIAT offers diesel engines as well.

Does FIAT Have a Focus Towards Safety Innovation?

FIAT appears to be offering a lot of safety features in the new 500X. They will be included in various trim levels and as optional upgrade packages. Some of these features include familiar favorites like adaptive high beam, automatic headlights, and blind spot monitoring. However, more advanced features like autonomous emergency braking and lane assist are also available to help you stay alert on the road. You can even get the 500X with a traffic sign recognition system so that you always know the rules of the road while you drive.

While the refresh for the European 2019 FIAT 500X may look subtle, a lot has been done to enhance the crossover even further.
