When Did FIAT Make Their First Electric Vehicle?

The first electric vehicle for FIAT in places like Europe was the New 500. It came in different model trims you could choose from.

The New 500

When it first came out, the New 500 was a vehicle you could choose as a two-door and four-seater with the La Prima trim. This was the only one that you could get. Later on, they released a version that was a three-door hatchback. This was in June 2020. After that, there was a four-door hatchback version of the New 500 that they called the “3 + 1.” Since then, different editions came out that added different features, including a variation in battery capacities, going from 24 kWh to the 42kWh battery in the eventual convertible style.

There was also limited production for different models, including auctions for the Giorgio Armani, Kartel, and an option from Leonardo DiCaprio.

The New 500 was the first city car from the brand that featured autonomous driving at level 2. It also had the Uconnect 5 infotainment system and was the first for that. The first EV for FIAT also has the ADAS safety system, including the Autonomous emergency brake. It also has detection for cyclists and pedestrians. It has options for lane control, lane centering, emergency calling, Adaptive Cruise Control, and more.

In the end, the performance goes with two different motor and battery options. The option for charging is the 85 kW fast charger system unless you have the 24kWh model. The bigger version takes 5 minutes only to get 31 miles of range. All in all, you can go from nothing to 80 percent charged in only 35 minutes. The initial Launch Edition also came with a home Charging station so you can get started right away. It's a complete vehicle for those starting out with their first electric vehicle.
