Specs at a Glance

The new 2021 FIAT 500X will appeal to a lot of drivers. Unique styling and user-friendly technologies help set apart this small crossover. Let's find out how the 500X Pop compares to the 500X Trekking Plus.

Performance

Both of these trims use the same powertrain. Motivation comes from a 1.3-liter, MultiAir turbo four-cylinder engine. FIAT rates it to push out a lively 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The 500X's excellent torque allows for powerful acceleration. A nine-speed automatic transmission also helps ensure a smooth and effortless performance. All-wheel drive comes standard throughout the lineup.

Appearance

Many people are immediately drawn to the 500X's exclusive Italian-inspired styling. It looks like no other vehicle in the segment. Even the entry-level Pop trim will make drivers take a second glance. Several bold paint colors are offered, including Italia Blue and Amore Red. Fiat outfits it with a more rugged front fascia to give the Trekking Plus trim an adventurous look. Upgraded alloy wheels add to the attractiveness of the 500X Trekking Plus.

Features

The 500X Pop boasts much standard equipment, such as the Uconnect 4 infotainment unit, which features a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone support. Bluetooth streaming audio, a ParkView backup camera, and keyless ignition also come standard.

You can expect the range-topping 500X Trekking Plus to offer a more luxurious driving experience. Leather upholstery gives its cabin an upscale character. If you're a big music fan, check out this model's eight-speaker Beats premium audio system. Other upgrades consist of dual-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, and navigation. An optional Advanced Driver Assistance package brings additional safety features, including blind-spot monitoring and automatic emergency braking.
