Specs at a Glance

The 2022 FIAT 500X is one of the coolest compact SUVs on the market. Retro-inspired styling and a premium interior help set it apart from the pack. Meanwhile, a punchy performance makes the new 500X especially entertaining to drive. Here's a look at how the Pop trim compares to the Sport trim.

Performance

Both of these FIAT 500X trims come equipped with the same satisfying powertrain. Resting under the hood is an invigorating 1.3L MultiAir Turbo engine, which develops 177 horsepower and a class-leading 210 lb-ft of torque. This engine links to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Unlike the overwhelming majority of its competitors, the 500X comes standard with an advanced AWD system. With the SUV's Dynamic Selector Traction Control System, you can adjust its driving character. While the Sport mode enables you to enjoy a supreme performance, switching to the Traction+ mode gives you greater control on slippery surfaces.

Appearance

There's no model in the class that looks like the 2022 FIAT 500X. Its retro design cues will cause onlookers to stop and take notice. Many people adore this crossover SUV's eye-catching front fascia. Furthermore, even the base Pop trim features signature LED taillights. Several stunning paint colors are offered, including Rovente Red and Italia Blue.

FIAT designed the Sport trim to have an especially racy appearance. Sleeker bodywork and dual chrome exhaust outlets help it to make a serious statement. While unique 18-inch alloy wheels come standard on the Sport trim, its optional 19-inch alloy wheels bring a more aggressive stance.

Features

The Pop trim gives you plenty of great features for the money. Its standard Uconnect 4 infotainment system provides a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Built-in Voice Command technology ensures easier operation while on the road. Other niceties include Bluetooth streaming audio, push-button start, and a six-speaker stereo system.

Expect the Sport trim's cabin to have a racier feel. It features a flat-bottom performance steering wheel with Alcantara inserts and bright pedals. Paddle shifters add more driving fun.
