Specs at a Glance
Few compact SUVs are as rewarding as the new 2022 FIAT 500X. Not only does this versatile crossover provide great comfort, but it also features one of the segment's strongest standard powertrains. Furthermore, cool styling makes the 500X a serious head-turner. Let's find out how the entry-level Pop trim compares to the Trekking trim.
Performance
These trims are powered by the same powertrain. A 1.3L MultiAir turbo engine gives the SUV a strong kick. FIAT rates it to crank out 177 horsepower and a class-leading 210 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission further optimizes performance. Unlike most of its key competitors, the new 500X comes standard with an advanced AWD system. Meanwhile, a Dynamic Selector Traction Control System enables you to choose the perfect driving mode. While switching to the Sport mode ensures maximum responsiveness, engaging the Traction+ mode gives you greater security on slippery surfaces.
Appearance
No other crossover in the class looks like the 2022 FIAT 500X. Retro styling cues help it to make a grand entrance. Even the entry-level Pop trim gives you access to a number of head-turning exterior colors, including Passione Red and Italia Blue. The Pop trim also offers an optional Sport Appearance Package, which adds 18-inch sport aluminum wheels and dual chrome exhaust tips. To set apart the Trekking trim, FIAT gives it a more rugged front fascia.
Features
Many appealing features come equipped on the 500X Pop. Its Uconnect 4 infotainment system features a 7.0-inch touchscreen with voice command technology and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Remote start, a six-speaker stereo system, and Bluetooth streaming also come standard.
Premium cloth seating gives the 500X Trekking a more upscale feel. It also adds a 3.5-inch color driver information display and a height-adjustable rear cargo floor. Heated leather seats and a dual-pane glass sunroof are on the Trekking trim's list of options.
