Specs at a Glance
The 2022 FIAT 500X remains one of the most satisfying compact crossovers on the market. Eye-catching Italian styling and an upscale interior help it stand out from the rest. Standard all-wheel drive gives the 500X another edge over the competition. Here's a look at how the Trekking trim compares to the Sport trim.
Performance
Both trims come equipped with the same formidable powertrain. Under the hood lies FIAT's 1.3L MultiAir turbo engine, which develops 177 horsepower and a class-leading 210 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission helps promote a smooth performance. With all-wheel drive being standard, you'll always be prepared to face changing road conditions. The 500X's Dynamic Selector Traction Control System allows you to choose the perfect driving mode. While the Sport mode promotes a more spirited drive, switching to the Traction+ mode ensures optimum traction during wet weather.
Appearance
Regardless of which trim you choose, you can look forward to cruising in style. Folks who prefer a more adventurous look will favor the Trekking trim. You'll immediately notice the 500X Trekking's more rugged front fascia. Meanwhile, other drivers will be more drawn to the sleeker-looking Sport trim. While unique 18-inch alloy wheels come standard on the 500X Sport, larger 19-inch wheels are optional. Dual chrome exhaust tips add another racy touch.
Features
Like the Sport trim, the Trekking trim comes loaded with great features. FIAT's easy-to-operate Uconnect 4 infotainment system is destined to leave you impressed. It provides a 7.0-inch touchscreen with voice command and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Premium cloth upholstery gives the cabin a luxurious feel. Remote start also comes standard. Some nice upgrades are on the 500X Trekking's list of options, including a powerful BeatsAudio premium sound system and heated front seats.
Upon stepping inside the Sport trim, you'll notice its racier cockpit. A flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters and bright pedals create an exciting atmosphere. Leather-trimmed sport bucket seats are optional.
