It's only one of many reasons why we remain a trusted Fiat dealer in the Phoenix area. Getting the most valuable information allows astute car buyers like yourself to make empowering decisions. Our comparison of the 2022 FIAT 500X and 2022 Kia Sportage helps you decide!

Fuel Efficiency

One of the ways the Fiat 500X helps you in heavy traffic and at stop lights is the engine automatically turns off when it comes to a complete stop. Not only does that help with fuel consumption, but it also helps the environment by reducing pollution. The start and stop feature for the engine is not offered with the Kia Sportage. The Fiat 500X also has a capless fueling system. That standard feature reduces fuel evaporation and eliminates pollution. The engine type for the Kia Sportage is regular unleaded, and the Fiat 500X is Intercooled Turbo Premium.

Ownership Costs

Insuring a Fiat 500X typically is much lower than the Kia Sportage. Although insurance rates also depend upon driving history and other factors, the 500X is less expensive to operate, and the parts for replacement tend to be lower in cost. Additionally, the manufacturer's recommended maintenance for the Fiat 500X is cheaper than the Kia Sportage. And as mentioned above, the fuel efficiency of the Fiat 500X is greater, and saving money at the pump when refilling is much easier. Additionally, the Fiat 500X was tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and received an overall good rating, including roof strength and front crash protection.

Safety and Convenience

The parking brake is a highly underestimated safety feature until it's needed. And the parking brake on the Fiat 500X is released with one touch of your foot or automatically. The parking brake for the Kia Sportage is manual. Although the feature depends on the trim level, the wipers of the Fiat 500X adjust their speed automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. The Kia Sportage has an identical feature, but the standard intermittent setting needs to be adjusted manually. The drivetrain for the Fiat 500X is all-wheel drive, whereas the Kia Sportage is front-wheel drive. Both SUVs have a five-passenger capacity. However, because the Fiat 500X is 9.2 inches shorter than the Kia Sportage, it's easier to navigate, especially when parking in tight spaces.
