What's New For the 2019 FIAT 500L

The 2019 Fiat 500L has been rolled out without many major updates. The biggest change is that the Urbana Appearance package, previously available for the Trekking model, which is now no longer available. Other than that, the performance and customization options remain largely the same as last year.

3 Trim Packages & Features

There are three main models for this lineup. The Pop model is the base trim. The next trim up is the Trekking model, followed by the Lounge. Several packages are available for the Pop model: Premium Group, Quick Order Package 23D, Chrome Appearance Group, and Popular Equipment Group. The trim also has a number of in-car entertainment systems. You have auxiliary audio input along with a USB that allows external smartphone or music player control. There's 6 total speakers.

The Pop trim comes with a leather steering wheel, rear view camera, and dual vanity mirrors. You also have interior air filtration, a tilting telescopic steering wheel, and pockets in the front and rear doors. The front seatback has storage space. Audio and cruise control can be found on the steering wheel. The Pop model's seats are premium cloth. Both front seats have 6-way manual adjustment.

The Trekking model has all the same features as the Pop model. Available additional packages are Quick Order Package 23G and Popular Equipment Group. There's also more in-car entertainment. You'll get 12 months of complementary satellite radio, a USB connection, and 7 speakers. You'll also get premium audio quality.

The dual vanity mirrors on the Trekking model both illuminate in darkness. You'll have electric power steering capabilities and a rear view camera. There's a universal remote transmitter to let you open your garage door or disarm a security system. One-touch power windows, heated mirrors, and keyless door locks are also standard features on the Trekking. The front seats provide multi-level heating. You also have the exterior option of a dual-pane powered sunroof.

For the Lounge, available packages are Graphite Edition and Quick Order Package 23J. You have the entertainment systems found in the Trekking. There's climate control in the front. Additional rear parking sensors make parking easy, while the inside rear view mirror automatically dims. The front seats, on top of being heated and 6-way adjustable, also have lumbar support with the Lounge. You still have the power sunroof option, along with a new option for 17-inch aluminum wheels with white pockets.

What's Under the Hood?

The Pop model has a 1.4-liter engine with a maximum of 160 horsepower. It also generates 184 ft-lbs of torque. The vehicle gets an estimated 22 MPG in the city versus 30 MPG on the highway, for a combined total of 26 MPG. The fuel tank capacity is 13.2 gallons. It's driven with a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission. The Trekking model has the same engine and estimated fuel economy rating, as does the Lounge.

What Safety Features Are Included?

The Pop model has a standard host of safety features like daytime running lights and child safety locks. You also have emergency braking assistance, multiple airbags, and increased stability control. A tire pressure monitoring system will alert you if your tires need air. In addition, there are ventilated front disc and solid rear disc brakes.

The Lounge model comes with an engine immobilizer and fog lights. There's the same safety features included on the Pop model. In addition, you get a remote alarm system to protect against theft. You also have a post-collision safety system that activates if the vehicle is involved in a collision. Traction control ensures the vehicle stays within your grasp.
